Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre (real name, André Romelle Young) is a rapper, a music producer, and an entrepreneur. He is well-known as the owner and founder of Aftermath Entertainment and also co-founder of Beats Electronics.

He started working as a DJ in his teenage years. 

He joined World Class Wrekin’ Cru, a group that performed at nightclubs where he got his chance to work turntables.

He, together with bigwigs like Eazy-E and Ice Cube was one of the started the prominent gangster rap group, N.W.A. that was famous for the use of raw & harsh lyrics in early '90s.

In 2001, he became the first hip-hop producer to win a Grammy for Producer of The Year. He was also nominated for four other awards including: Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for the track Forget About Dre with Eminem.

Though Dr Dre still raps from every now and then, he frequently spends his time making music for artistes such as 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, The Game and more recently, Kendrick Lamar.

Information on his religion is unclear. Some sources say that he is Christian but it is not confirmed.

Dr. Dre is straight. He has 6 children with 5 different women. He was 16 years old when he fathered his first child whom he didn’t meet until 20 years after.

He is currently married to Nicole Young and they have 2 children together.

Apple Inc. announced in 2014, the purchase of Beats Electronics for $3 billion. The deal increased Dre's net worth to approximately $800 million, causing him to become the richest rap star, according to Forbes.

As at 2003, he weighed 270lb, so he decided to make amendments and he has shed 50lbs (23kg) off. He attributed his weight loss to healthy diet and lots of exercise.
