Dove Cameron

Dove Olivia Cameron is a television actress and a singer. Her real name at birth is Chloe Celeste Hosterman but took Dove as her stage name.

Early Accomplishments

At six years old, she commenced stage-acting in neighborhood playhouse productions as her dad urged her to.

At 14, she sang for her high school at the National Championship Show Choir.

She says she used to be a victim of bullying from the 5th grade till she graduated from high school but she was determined and remained persistent on her dream of acting and singing.

The Disney Channel teenage sitcom, Liv&Maddie brought Dove to fame for acting a double role as both Liv and Maddie Rooney.

She also head the cast as Mal in the musical fantasy film, Descendants in a superb performance. She is primed to reappear in the same role in the sequel to the movie.

For this movie, she made a cover of Genie in a Bottle and its video was viewed 22 million times within the period of a month.

In 2015, she started a band with her then-boyfriend, Ryan McCartan, a pop group they named The Girl and the Dreamcatcher. Together, they made and released 4 tracks.

Dove is a Christian. She is superstitious and she takes “signs” very seriously.

Dove is straight. In early 2016, she and Ryan McCartan got engaged but lasted for only 6 months. Later that year, she became friends with Thomas Doherty and the two are currently dating, according to PEOPLE.

Dove has a scar on her upper lip from a dog bite since she was 4. She tried to take the dog’s bone.

She’s chummy with Claire, her older sister who is an opera singer and voice teacher. Dove wears a heart necklace which her sister custom made for her.

She drinks everything out of mugs because cups freak her out. 

Her favorite food is coconut rice.

Dove has something called vasovagal syncope reactions which means she can faint during stress, an injury or when she sees blood.
