Michael Jordan is a name that has come to be synonymous with basketball globally. The retired “NBA greatest” is also a vastly successful businessman.

Early Accomplishments

Several colleges offered to recruit Jordan but chose North Carolina where he studied cultural geography and after impressing massively there in 3 seasons, he was recruited 3rd overall pick by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984 NBA draft.

Best Known For

Nicknamed His Airness and Air Jordan for his leaping prowess, he recorded over 32 thousand points in his 14-year NBA career. He was NBA champion 6 times, all with the Chicago Bulls and won 4 gold medals internationally.

He is the 3rd wealthiest African-American with businesses like Air Jordan Nike sneakers and ownership of the Charlotte Bobcats.

Sexual Orientation

Michael is straight. He was married to Juanita Vanoy in 1989 and their marriage survived until 2006. He got married to Yvette Prieto in 2013 after dating since 2008 and a 2-year engagement.

Family

He is one of the 5 kids of James Sr. and Deloris Jordan with his only younger sibling being Roslyn. He has Larry, James Jr. and Deloris as his elder siblings.

He fathers Jeffrey, Marcus and Jasmine with his ex-wife and twin daughters, Ysabel and Victoria with Yvette. He became a grandfather in 2019 through Jasmine.

Michael is not known to be very outspoken about his faith but he is a Christian, a Pentecostal at that.
