Who is Grant Hill?

Grant Hill has excelled at basketball and although retired, he continues to serve the game as board vice chairman of NBA team and as host of an NBA TV show.

Early Accomplishments

He has both his high school and college jerseys retired because of his excellence. He represented USA at the 1990 FIBA U18 Americas tournament and won gold.

His college career set an ACC record in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks as well as winning consecutive titles in 1991 & ‘92 for Duke University.

Best Known For

He played 6 years with Detroit Pistons, 7 with Orlando Magic, 5 with Phoenix Suns and retired with LA Clippers in 2013, amassing 17,137 points in all and winning very many awards. He won gold with the US national team at the 1996 Olympics.

He now serves on the board of Atlanta Hawks and hosts NBA Inside Stuff.

Sexual Orientation

Grant is straight. In 1993, he dated Jada Pinkett-Smith but it did not last. In 1999, he was set up on a blind date with singer, Tamia Washington and it was love at first sight. They both got married in July that same year.

Family

He is the only child of football great, Calvin Hill and his mother, Janet Hill who works at the Pentagon. He welcomed his first daughter, Myla in 2002 and his second, Lael in 2007.

Religion

Grant was raised in a loving Christian family and from all indications, appears to still worship God like he did growing up.

Worth To Know

Though in different sports, he and his father have both won the Rookie of the Year award.

During the 90s, he was also famous for his Sprite ad campaigns that usually featured the line, “Grant Hill Drinks Sprite”.

Other companies he has represented include Tag Heuer, McDonald’s and Fila.
