Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton is a 5-time world champion Formula 1 race car driver with Mercedes AMG Petronas and has set the most records in the sport. He is the wealthiest British sportsperson ever.

Early Accomplishments

His interest in driving got piqued when he got a RC car as a gift at 6 years. He came in at 2nd place at the BRCA. He became a go-kart driver at 8 with together with F1 rival, Nico Rosberg.

By the time he was 15 his driving skills got so good he got signed by McLaren quickly. He was Formula 3 European champion and Grand Prix 2 champion as a teenager. 

Best Known For

At only 22 he competed in his debut F1 season and finished 2nd but won his first world title in 2008 for McLaren at 23 years.

He has won 4 more in 2014 2015, 2017 and 2018 and is the holder of over 25 records in the sport. He is the greatest Briton in the sport’s history.

Family

He is the son of Anthony Hamilton and Carmen larbalestier. He lived with his mom and half-sisters until 12 then lived with his dad and stepmom Linda and his half-brother Nicholas.

Lewis is very vocal about his Roman Catholic faith. He prays all the time, attends church regularly and is seen always sporting a cross necklace.
