Ziyi Zhang

Labelled by Time magazine as “China’s gift to Hollywood”, Ziyi Zhang has fully evolved from her days as a national dance champion to a prolific actress and brand spokesmodel.

Early Accomplishments

Dance was her thing from age 8 and enrolled at the Beijing Dance Academy at 11 and became national youth champion at 15. She switched passion to acting and studied at Beijing’s drama academy at 17.

At age 16, she made a film debut in Touching Starlight but her real success came at 18 when she starred in The Road Home in 1998.

Best Known For

Zhang gained fame for starring in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in 2000, House of Flying Daggers in 2004 and Memoirs of a Geisha in 2005.

She is the most single film awarded actress in history, winning 12 awards for her part in The Grandmaster in 2013. 

She is due to star in 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Sexual Orientation

Ziyi is straight and in 2015, got married to her true love, rockstar Wang Feng. 

Her engagement to Aviv Nevo broke down in 2010, after which she began to date Sa Beining for 2 years.

Family

She is the only daughter of Zhang Yuanxiao and Li Zhousheng and has an elder brother she’s very close to named Zinan Zhang. 

She became a mother in 2015 to a beautiful girl named Wang Xingxing.

Zhang is widely regarded to be a Buddhist.
