At 11 months old, she made her first screen appearance by modelling for a soap advertisement. Her first movie is Alice, sweet Alice in 1976 but Pretty Baby in 1978 brought her much more fame. Her modelling career was already fetching her $10,000 per day at just 16.

Her most celebrated work has to be her role as Emmeline Lestrange in 1980’s Blue Lagoon and she was cast in Endless Love in 1981. She has also appeared in 20 episodes of Lipstick Jungle from 2008 to 2009 and in 93 episodes of Suddenly Susan (which she also produced) from 1997 to 2000. She is currently playing a part in TV series, Jane the Virgin.
