Early Accomplishments

Born into a music family, Whitney found herself playing the piano and singing solo at her church’s choir at just 11 years. 

At 14 years, she was singing backup for some artistes.

Her first major media exposure was by modelling and when she became the first black woman to appear on the cover of Seventeen when she was 17 years.

Best Known For

The chanteuse will always be remembered for her debut eponymous record in 1985 which sold over 24 million units and for songs such as I Will Always Love You which is the song with most sales ever by a songstress, Exhale (Shoop Shoop) and My Love Is Your Love.

The acmes of her film career are her parts in The Bodyguard in 1992 and The Preacher’s Wife in 1996.
