Bow Wow, now addressed by his birth name, Shad Moss is a gifted rapper and actor. He is also a TV show host.

Early Accomplishments

His interest in rap music began when he was 3 and using the name Kid Gangsta, he began rapping at age 5. 

He was spotted by Snoop Dogg after he performed at a LA concert in 1993.

When he was 12, and after a change of name by Snoop, he sang The Stick Up, an OST for Wild Wild West. 

He released Beware of Dog in 2000 and it sold double platinum in a year.

Best Known For

He is known for songs such as Bow Wow (That’s My Name), Bounce With Me, both in 2000, Baby It’s You with JoJo in 2004, Let Me Hold You and Like Mine, both in 2005.

He is known for hosting 106 & Park on 2013 and has played main roles in films such as Like Mike in 2003, Lottery Ticket in 2010 and a smaller role in 2006’s The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Bow Wow is straight. He was with Ciara in 2004 for 2 years and Angela Simmons for 5 years, including a 2-months engagement. 

Since 2010, he has been with Joie Chavis in an on and off relationship. He has also dated Keyshia Cole and was engaged to Erica Mena.

Family

He is the son of Alfonso Moss and Teresa Caldwell. He did not know his estranged father for 30 years until 2017 while filming Growing Up Hip-Hop. He has a daughter with Joie named Shai, born in 2011.

Religion

Although not as devout, Bow Wow is a born-again Christian.

In 2000, he made history, with Bounce With Me, by being the youngest rap artist to have a No. 1 song. This feat is recognized by Guinness World Records Book.
