Retired American pro tennis player Andre Agassi, is a iconic name in the history of the sport, regarded by fans and critics as truly one of the greats.

Early Accomplishments

At age 12, he won the 1982 edition of the national U-14 championship with his long-time buddy, Roddy Parks.

In 1983, he went to spend 3 months at Nick Bollettieri’s boot camp in Florida but after seeing how good he was, Nick decided to train him for free. 

He was ranked world’s No. 3 by the time he was 18.

Best Known For

He won 8 Grand Slam titles; Wimbledon (1992), US Open (1994, 1999), Australian Open (1995, 2000, 2001, 2003), French Open (1999) and an Olympic title in 1996. 

He is known as the man with the greatest service return ever. 

He published his highly entertaining autobiography book, Open in 2009.

Andre is straight and has since 2001 been husband to Steffi Graf. 

Before then, after dating for 4 years, he tied the knots with Brooke Shields in 1997 but their union broke down in 1999. 

He also dated Barbra Streisand for a year in 1992 amidst public outcry as she is older than him by 28 years.

He is the littlest of the 4 children of Emmanuel and Elizabeth Agassi with his siblings being Rita, Phillip and Tami. 

He is the father of Jaden (born 2001) and Jaz (born 2003).

In 1988, he set the record for most consecutive wins by a teenage male player. It was broken in 2005 by Rafael Nadal.
