Who is Leona Naess?

Leona Naess is a wonderful singer and songwriter. She makes great alternative rock music with a sweet voice and deft guitar play. 

Early Accomplishments 

She received a guitar gift from her mother when she was 14 and learned to play Prince’s The Cross. She studied music at NYU before switching to anthropology. 

She began to perform at clubs and bars and even did some busking. In 1993, she was on the reality series, The Next Big Thing.

Best Known For 

She launched her maiden album, Comatosed in 2000. Some of her most famous songs include Ballerina, Charm Attack and I Tried To Rock You But You Only Roll

Leona is straight. She met Ryan Adams in 2002 and they got engaged briefly until their split in 2003. She fell in love with John Miller, whom she met in 2008 and they are both now married to each other. 

Family

She is the youngest child of Arne Naess Jr. and Fillipa D'Orey with her siblings being Christoffer and Katinka. Her father tied knots with Diana Ross and she became half-sister to Evan Ross and Ross Naess

Her father also took Camilla Astrup as a wife and hence, Louis and Nicklas became her half-siblings too. 

She became a mother in 2010 and again in 2011. She also has actress Christa Miller as her sister-in-law.

Religion

Leona does not talk about religion, hence it is difficult to establish her faith if she has any. 

Worth To Know

She took a hiatus from singing to focus on raising her kids. She made a comeback in 2016, taking the stage at Rockwood Music Hall.

After the death of her father in a 2004 mountain-climbing accident, she considered quitting music.
