Alun Lewis

Alun Lewis is a musician and a veteran in the world of acting. Although retired now, the Englishman has enjoyed over 25 years of television fame.

Early Accomplishments

Much of his childhood is unavailable and one cannot tell when his love for acting began. 

However, in his early or mid-20s, he attended the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London to educate himself on becoming an actor. 

He was almost 30 years old when he appeared in his first feature movie titled Le Pétomane, a 1979 comedy.

Best Known For

From 1993, Alun had been appearing recurrently in the British TV series Emmerdale as a popular postman character until 1998. 

Another noteworthy on-screen appearance was in the family sitcom Birds of a Feather between 1989 and 1994.

He was also a guitarist during the 1990s for the country rock band, The Woolpackers. They are credited for the hit single, Hillbilly Rock Hillbilly Roll.

Sexual Orientation

Alun is straight. He is not known to have been with any other woman except his wife, Annette Eckblom. They got divorced however, in 1986.

Family

He is the younger son of Gordon and Sarah Gwen Bennett with his brother being the late actor, Hywel Bennett. 

His daughter is the actress Amelia Warner (Jamie Dornan's wife) from his marriage to Ekblom.

Religion 

Although there is a certain credence that Alun is a Christian, this claim however could not be substantiated.

Worth To Know

Before his feature film debut, he had been in 2 projects while studying at RADA; the comic drama Beryl’s Lot in 1977 and the sitcom Rising Damp in 1978.

His middle name, Lewis is the same as his mother’s maiden name.
