Kiefer Sutherland

Kiefer Sutherland is a very respected and accomplished British-Canadian television and film actor, director and producer. He is an inductee into both Hollywood and Canada’s Walk of Fame and a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Early Accomplishments

Growing up, he took weekend acting tutorials and by 1983, he got his debut film feature in Max Dugan Returns. 

He got a bigger role in The Bad Boy in 1984 before moving to Hollywood where he was roommates with Robert Downey Jr.

Best Known For

He has achieved global acclaim for his portrayal of CTU agent, Jack Bauer for all 9 seasons of fan’s favorite espionage series, 24. He has left lasting impressions in movies such as The Lost Boys in 1987, A Time to Kill in 1996, Phone Booth in 2002 and Pompeii in 2014. 

He also starred in 2012’ series Touch and now playing POTUS in Designated Survivor, airing since 2015.

He is straight and currently in a long-term relationship with Cindy Vela since 2014. Before then, he was married to Camelia Kath between 1987 and 1990. 

He got engaged to Julia Roberts soon after but she broke up with him 3 days before their wedding in 1991 on cheating allegations. 

He was espoused to Kelly Winn between 1995 and 2008 and has also dated Catherine Bisson for 4 years, Reiko Aylesworth for 2 years and Bo Derek.

Family

Kiefer and his twin sister, Rachel are born to veteran actor, Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas. 

He also has half-brothers Angus, Roeg and Rossif from his father’s third marriage. 

He is the father of Sarah Sutherland from first wife, Camelia Kath.

Religion

He was raised Catholic and even has a Virgin Mary tattoo on his arm. However, whenever he is asked about his religion, he never reveals much. So, he may be a spiritual, non-religious believer.
