She was 16 years old when she started to exhibit her talents in musical theatres. 

In 1959, she starred in the original Broadway play of The Sound of Music as Liesl von Trapp and also in another musical titled First Impressions.

She is fondly remembered primarily for main role as Barbara in 1963 film, Summer Holiday. She has also delivered memorable performances in movies such as For Love of Ivy in 1968, Circle of Friends in 1972 and Mr. Hobbs Takes A Vacation in 1962.
