Gad Elmaleh

The funniest man in France, Gad Elmaleh is a very talented and revered Moroccan stand-up comic and actor.

Early Accomplishments

Being the son of a mime, little Gad would always introduce his dad using a placard.

He attended schools in Morocco before going to University of Montreal to study political science for 4 years but ended up not graduating.

He relocated to Paris in 1992 to learn drama at Cours Florent.

Best Known For

He sold a million tickets to his stand-up show Papa est en haut in 2007 while his 2006’s L’autre, c’est moi sold over 1.5 million DVDs. 

On screen, he has topped the bill in Priceless in 2006, Coco in 2009, The Adventures of Tintin and Midnight In Paris both in 2011 and Les Seigneurs in 2012.

Sexual Orientation

Gad is straight and has been married on 3 different occasions. 

His first was to Anne Brochet from 1998 to 2002 and 7 years later was with journalist Marie Drucker but only for a year. 

In 2011, he wedded royalty Charlotte Casiraghi and after 4½ years, they were split in 2015.

Family

He and his thespian siblings, Arié and Judith are children of Régine and David Elmaleh. 

He fathers 2 sons with Anne and Charlotte, the first being Noé, born in 2000 and Raphaël, born in 2013.

Religion

Gad was born and is still a Sephardic Jew, a brand of Judaism from Morocco.
