Tyrese Gibson

Tyrese “Black-Ty” Darnell Gibson is a man with many facets. He is an actor, film and TV producer, singer, songwriter, screenwriter and author. He has also been a model, TV host and a video jockey.

Early Accomplishments

He started singing at 14 when he starred in a Coca-Cola ad. 

At 17, he started to model for Tommy Hilfiger and Guess. 

At 19, he released his platinum-certified debut album titled Tyrese and became a VJ for MTV Jams.

Best Known For

He plays a regular role in the Fast and Furious movies and major roles in 2007’s Transformer and its 2009 and 2011 sequels. 

His film breakthrough came in 2001 in Baby Boy and he starred in Death Race in 2008.

He has released 6 albums to date and has sold over 2.8 million copies, excluding Three Kings which is a joint album with in Ginuwine and Tank in 2013.

He published How to Get out Of Your Own Way in 2012 and co-authored Manology: Secrets of Your Man’s Mind Revealed with Rev. Run in 2013 and they are both NY Times bestsellers.

Tyrese is straight. He has dated women such as Meagan Good, Taraji P. Henson, Brandy, Chilli of TLC and Sanaa Lathan. 

He is rumored to have hooked up with Leona Lewis and Cameron Diaz. 

He married Norma Mitchell in 2007 and after 2 years, they had a frenzied divorce. 

He is currently wedded to Samantha Lee whom he tied the knot with on 2017’s Valentine’s Day in a quiet ceremony.

Family

He is the littlest among three siblings; brother Tyrone and sisters Salendra and Shonta, raised by Priscilla Gibson as his father, Tyrone left when he was 5. 

He has a daughter with his ex-wife; Shayla born in 2007. 

He is expecting a baby with his new wife, he announced in April.

Religion

In Twitter he wrote: "I'm not Muslim I am a born again Christian".
