Robert De Niro

Robert De Niro is an American actor, producer and director.

Robert got introduced into acting through his performance in the Wizard of Oz in 1953. He got his first movie role in 1965 through the film Encounter.

Robert has gotten the most recognition for his role in the award-winning movie The Godfather: Part II in 1974. His role in this movie won him an Academy award.

Robert is presently married to the actress and singer Grace Hightower. They have been married for 30 years. Prior to this marriage, he was married to his fellow actress Diahnne Abbott. Robert has 6 children one of which walked in his footsteps and became an actress, Drena De Niro. 

Robert's father was the popular abstract painter Robert Henry De Niro. Just like his father, Robert's mother Virginia Admiral was also a painter and a poet as well. 

Religious Belief

Robert had a complicated religious foundation. His paternal grandparents were Catholics and raised his father in such beliefs. Nevertheless, at the early age of 2, his parents got divorced because his father was gay. His mother was also once a Christian under the Presbyterian denomination but later on became an atheist. This foundation confused Robert at a young age and therefore is presently between being an agnostic and an atheist.
