Dick Cusack

Richard “Dick” Cusack was an American actor, screenwriter, director, producer and satirist. He is the father and paterfamilias of the Cusack thespian dynasty.

Early Accomplishments

Dick served the US Air Force at the Philippines during the Second World War. He went to college when he returned from the war where he was a roommate to future peace activist Philip Berrigan.

Best Known For

As a filmmaker, his documentary on abortion titled The Committee in 1971 earned an Emmy award. His highly rated works include My Bodyguard in 1980, Eight Men Out in 1988, The Fugitive in 1993, High Fidelity in 2000.

His parents are Dennis and Margaret Cusack. He took Nancy Carolan as his wife and together they have 5 children; Ann, Bill, Susie, Joan and John. He has 2 grandsons Dylan John and Miles both from Joan.

He died in 2003 at the age of 77 from pancreatic cancer.
