Ellen Degeneres is a well-known American comedian and TV host. She’s also recognized as a gay role model. 

Early Accomplishments

Her career as a comedian got started in 1981 after she gathered a crowd by her funny manner of talking. The girl was afraid of public speaking and decided to hide it behind the humor. In 1996 she was in movie Mr. Wrong and she can be seen in Coneheads (1993) as a coach.

Best Known For

In 2003, when Ellen came back to the screen, she initiated her own talk show Ellen. The program gained huge popularity and won lots of Public Choice Awards. 

Ellen is also a writer. Her latest book is called Home and was published in 2015.

Ellen Degeneres is a gay. She has been married to Portia De Rossi for 9 years, since 2008. Previously she dated actresses Anne Heche  and Alexandra Hedison for 3 years.

Religious Belief

The Hollowverse informs that Ellen Degeneres was born in a family of Christian Scientists – her parents considered medicine and doctors a taboo. However, such approach didn’t appeal to her and she chose to be spiritual rather than religious. Ellen said that her previous religion was concentrated more on the after-life than on while-life things. She used to go to the church every Wednesday and never took a single pill until she reached 13.
