The Weeknd is a Canadian musician and producer. 

Early Accomplishments

House of Balloons was the first mix tape released by The Weeknd. This mix tape became extremely successful and was nominated for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize. 

Best Known For

The Weeknd has gotten the most recognition from his album Beauty Behind The Madness which sold over a million copies in the US alone. The album was also ranked number one on the charts in the US, Canada, Australia, UK and Sweden. 

Sexual Orientation

The Weeknd is straight. He began dating the model Bella Hadid in 2015 and within a year, their relationship fell apart. A few months after the breakup, The Weeknd began dating the popular actress and singer Selena Gomez.  

Religious Belief

The Weeknd was raised as an Orthodox Christian. Growing up, he attended church services with his grandmother. As he has become independent and having a mind of his own, The Weeknd does not seem to remain religious. Nevertheless, he occasionally wears a cross around his neck which might either prove he holds on to some of his values or just uses it as a fashion statement. Contrary to what most of the world thinks, The Weeknd's actual name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. 

His primary language is Amharic and therefore, he speaks it fluently.
