Yasiin Bey (Mos Def)

Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) is a retired American Hip-hop artist and actor. 

Early Accomplishments

At a young age, before he made it into music, Yasiin featured in a couple of movies. His first role was when he was 14 in the film God Bless The Child. 

Best Known For

Yasiin is mostly recognised for his first album released in 1999 titled Black On Both Sides. This album sold almost a million copies in the US alone. His role in The Woodsman won him the Black Reel Award for Best Indie Actor in 2005.

Yasiin is assumed to be straight as various sources record him having 6 children. 

Religious Belief

He was detained by the South African authorities when he tried to leave the country. He believes that he is somehow been targeted and the immigration has been limiting his career as well as raising false allegations against him. These circumstances and various others led to Yasiin declaring his retirement as an actor and musician.
