Early Accomplishments
Wilde went in for fencing and had a chance to perform on the Olympic Games in 1936, but refused to be a part of a team in order to perform in the theater.
In 1935, he decided to turn to the acting and start his way on Broadway. The first his works were uncredited. He appeared in “The Rhythm Party” (1936) and “Lady with Red Hair” (1940).
The first serious role of Louis in “High Sierra” was not only a great chance to boost his skills but also an opportunity to approve himself.

His big breakthrough came in the 1940s. He starred in “Kisses for Breakfast” and “Knockout”.
