Meghan Trainor

Meghan Trainor is a Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter whose music has served as inspiration for young people struggling with body image and esteem.

Early Accomplishments

Singing since she was 6, she began writing her own music by age 11 after being advised by her father to explore several genres. 

She learnt how to play the guitar, piano and bongo drum as she also joined a family band, Island Fusion including her aunt by age 12. 

She recorded her first song, Give Me a Chance by 13 and had released 3 albums independently before she turned 18. 

Best Known For

Meghan is most famous for songs such as the highly successful and viral song, All About That Bass and Lips Are Movin’, both in 2013. 

She was also featured on Charlie Puth’s Marvin Gaye in 2015 and provided Better When I’m Dancing, a soundtrack for The Peanuts Movie in 2015.

Sexual Orientation

Meghan is straight. She shared an on-stage kiss with Charlie Puth in 2015 during their performance at the AMAs but the two have reiterated that they are just friends. In 2016, she began dating actor Daryl Sabara and announced their engagement in December 2017. In a year (2018) they got married.

Family

She is the middle child of jewelers Gary and Kelli Trainor with her brothers being Ryan and Justin. 

She has an aunt, Lisa Toney who is wife to Burton Toney.

Religion

Meghan is a Christian. She grew up and began singing in the church choir with her father as the organist.
