Mark Ronson

Mark Ronson is an accomplished English DJ, music producer, musician, singer and songwriter with 5 Grammy Awards to his name.

Early Accomplishments

He was gifted with a set of drums when he was 5 years old and joined a band when he was 14 years but soon switched passion to DJing when he got turntables at 18 years. 

He started performing at clubs in New York while studying at the city’s university. 

He appeared in an ad campaign for Tommy Hilfiger in 1999.

Best Known For

His 2015 album Uptown Special is his most successful work yet. The album features Feel Right (featuring Mystikal) and Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars) that has earned him a Brit Award, a Grammy and over 3 billion views on YouTube.

Another significant work was Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black album which was a great success and earned him 2 Grammy Awards. It featured hits such as Rehab.

Mark is straight and is presently dating Samantha Urbani since 2017. 

He was married to French actress Joséphine de La Baume in 2011 but got separated in 2017. He was also engaged to Rashida Jones in 2003 after dating for a year but they split in 2004.

Family

Mark and his younger twin sisters, Charlotte and Samantha are children of Laurence Ronson and Ann Dexter. 

His mother later married Mick Jones and birthed his half-siblings, Annabelle and Alexander Jones. 

He also has half-siblings Joshua, David and Henrietta from his father’s marriage to Michele First.

Mark was raised in the family’s way of Masorti Judaism faith.

His family’s name was formerly Aaronson but it was shortened by his grandfather. 

They used to be one of Britain’s richest family but they took a £1 billion loss when the real estate industry crashed in the 90s.
