Who is Rick Dufay?

Rick Dufay is a guitarist and singer-songwriter who came to prominence in the 80s as a short-lived member of Aerosmith.

Early Accomplishments

Before becoming popular, he played with various bar bands across New York clubs before getting contracted to Polydor Records in 1980. He released his live studio debut album too that year titled, Tender Loving Abuse.

Best Known For

He was with Aerosmith between 1981 and 1984 and was on their 1982 album, Rock in a Hard Place before committing something referred to as “career suicide” when he asked 2 former band members to rejoin the band at his own detriment due to Steven Tyler’s worsening health.

He has since formed the band, Blue by Nature as well as The Rick Dufay Band.

Sexual Orientation

Rick is straight and was married to exotic dancer, Maureen Dumont Kelly (late) but their union was short-lived as their got separated a few years later and eventually divorced.

Family

He was born in the French capital city of Paris to an unnamed French woman and American actor, Richard Ney as Richard Marc Dufay. His marriage to Maureen produced a daughter, the actress we have come to know as Minka Kelly.

Before joining Aerosmith in 1981, he has been credited the band’s rhythm guitarist right from 1979.
