Adam Horowitz

Adam Horowitz, popularly known by his fans as Ad-Rock, is a hip hop artiste, rapper and guitar man for Beastie Boys. He is also an occasional actor.

Early Accomplishments

He started music in his very early teenage years by learning to play the guitar and soon joined a band called the Young and the Useless, playing punk rock music. They started playing with the Beastie Boys and when a guitarist left in 1982, Adam joined the Beastie Boys at the age of 16.

Best Known For

He has become renowned for his rap and guitar shredding skills with the famed 80s and 90s band, Beastie Boys. With songs like Fight for Your Right in 1986, Sabotage in 1994 and Intergalactic in 1998, the band has sold over 40 million albums globally and became Rock and Roll Hall of Famers in 2012.

Adam is straight and has been married to feminism advocate, Kathleen Hanna since 2006 after dating for 9 years. Before then, his 1992 marriage to Ione Skye ended in 1995, with the divorce finally settled in 1999.
