Kris Allen

Kris Allen is one of the finest singers and songwriters around today. He was shot to fame after his exploits on the 8th season of American Idol.

Early Accomplishments

He learned to play the viola for his elementary school and continued during his high school, eventually making it to the state orchestra. He also taught himself to play the guitar at 13.

In junior college, he travelled around the world on missions as a member of Chi Alpha campus ministry. He released Brand New Shoes, his first album in 2007.

Best Known For

In 2009, Kris was named winner of the 8th season of American Idol. He has gone on to release 4 more albums that include hits like Live Like We’re Dying and The Vision of Love.

He has exhibited zealous philanthropic acts with missions to several countries such Morocco, South Africa, Myanmar, Thailand, Rwanda, Burma, Haiti, etc.

Kris is straight and has since 2008, been faithfully married to his sweetheart from high school, Katy O’Connell. They had both began dating since their junior year.

Family

He has a brother named Daniel who was also an Idol contestant with him. They are both sons of Neil and Kimberly Allen. He became a first time father to a son, Oliver in 2013 and then to a daughter, Rose in 2016.

Religion

Kris is a dedicated Christian. He worships at New Life Church, Conway, Arkansas where he has also been worship leader for years now.
