Colin Jost

Colin Jost is a man of incredible talent. He is a comedian who expresses his humor as a writer, a TV show host and as an actor.

Early Accomplishments

As a teenager, he was an editor for his high school news journal The Owl. He was also encouraged by his teachers to perform SNL sketches with his friends.

He graduated from Harvard where he was Harvard Lampoon’s president and studied British and Russian history and literature. He was hired by SNL immediately after.

Best Known For

Since 2005, Colin has been a writer on Saturday Night Live and has been co-head writer since 2015. He also began to co-host its Weekend Update segment since 2014.

He writes for several newspapers and journals as well as the screenplay for 2015 film, Staten Island Summer. He appeared in the 2016 romcom, How To Be Single.

Sexual Orientation

Colin is straight. He met Rashida Jones at Seth Meyers wedding and they both began dating until their breakup in 2016. 

He later met Scarlett Johansson at a SNL season finale after-party in May 2017 and they hit if off immediately with reports of them publicly making out that night. They confirmed their relationship in December 2017.

Family

Colin and his younger brother (who is also a comic writer and actor), Casey are sons of Daniel Jost and Kerry Kelly.

Religion

Colin was raised Catholic and it is safe to say he has not abandoned his faith.

For his excellent work on sketch comedy he has won 5 Writers Guild of America Awards among 12 nominations. He also won a Peabody Award in 2009 and has had 10 Primetime Emmy nominations.
