Blu Cantrell

American chanteuse Blu Cantrell, whose name at birth is Tiffany Cobb is a well-known, Grammy award recognized soul and R&B songwriter and recording artiste.

Early Accomplishments

Blu had a typical quiet childhood and was not recognized until the late 1990s when she became a back-up singer, most prominently with P. Diddy. She became an understudy of Teddy Riley and joined 8th Avenue, a short-lived all-girl group. After meeting several people on referrals, she finally got a contract with L.A. Reid’s Arista Records.

Best Known For

Her rise to prominence came in 2001 when she debuted her music career with Hit ‘Em Up Style (Oops!) which reached the No 2 spot on the Billboard chart. 

Her 2001 album, So Blu and 2003 album, Bittersweet which features hits such as Breathe with Sean Paul and Make Me Wanna Scream, earned her a combined 3 Grammy nominations.
