Jerome joined the vaudeville later than his brothers, in 1932. He started acting with Moe, known for his “pot-haircut”, and Larry, who was frizzly haired after Shemp left the trio.
Two years later, the guys signed a contract with Columbia Pictures and after some time Jerome became comedian star thanks to his gift for producing funny sounds and physical and inventive comedy manner.
The actor had to retire in 1947 after he experienced a heart stroke during the shooting of Half-Wits Holiday. After recovery, Jerome came back and starred in Hold That Lion!, but his health didn’t give him a chance to continue his acting as he wanted that.
