Gary Oldman

Gary Oldman is an English film director and actor who started his career in 80’s.

Early Accomplishments

In early 80’s the future film star used to play on the theatre stage. 

In 1985 – 1986, Gary was starring in The Pope’s Wedding series. For his role, the actor even received an award as the best newcomer. 

Best Known For

In 1986, Oldman appeared in the film Sid and Nancy that brought him fame among wide audience. His portrayal of Sid, as a punk rocker, was accepted for 100%.

The following year, when the actor appeared in Prick up Your Ears as Joe Orton (a playwright with non-traditional orientation), a new wave success was waiting for him. 

In 1992, Gary Oldman played the role of Dracula in the film Bram Stroker's Dracula.

Harry Potter’s fans remember him as Sirius Black (Harry’s godfather). This contract was signed in 2000’s. 

Religious Beliefs

Though Gary Oldman avoids interviews, he still shared his religious views and The Hallowverse (01/08/2013) made them available for us. The actor is not a religious person, he is rather spiritual. He doesn’t believe in God in a traditional for Christian sense, but he believes that Jesus indeed has some power.

Mr. Oldman is straight. He has been married four times. His famous wives were Lesley Manville, Uma Thurman, Isabella Rossellini and Donya Fiorentino. The actor has three children. 

Worth to Know

Gary Oldman doesn’t hide the fact that he was an alcoholic. He could easily drink 2 bottles of vodka a day on his own. 

He is the father of three sons.
