James Caan

James Caan is an American actor who has won several Oscars.

Early Accomplishments

While studying at New York University Hofstra, he met Francis Ford Coppola. James became interested in acting and in the 1960s he began to participate in Broadway productions. 

The first major project in the actor's filmography was the thriller Lady in a Cage.

Best Known For

A new stage in Caan's career started after participating in the creation of The Godfather. On the set, the actor worked with Marlon Brando.

Then, James appeared in the thriller The Gambler, the comedy Cinderella Liberty, the musical Funny Lady, and many others in the 70s and 80s.

In 2003, the actor returned to his acting career for a while. The drama Dogville and the comedy Elf reminded the audience of his talent.

Family

The future actor was born in the family of Arthur and Sophie Caan. The couple immigrated to the USA from Germany. His father was a butcher. The family welcomed two more children in addition to James: Barbara and Ronald.

Caan is the father of five kids: Alexander James, Jacob Nicholas, James Arthur, Tara and Scott.

Religion

His family is Jewish, so, supposedly, he is a Jew too.
