Diego Matamoros

Diego Matamoros is a Gemini-Award winning screen actor from Canada. He is also a multiple winner of Dora Mavor Moore Award for his incredible stage acting.

Early Accomplishments

His acting career began in the 80s when he made his debut in 1983 in a small role as Lester in the film, Hangin’ In. He went on to feature in 3 other films in the 80s which are Night Heat (1986), as Sid in The Big Town (1987) and as Matthew in Friday the 13th (1988). 

Best Known For

His Gemini Award came as a result for his role as Dr. Goldman in the TV miniseries, The Sleep Room but has made notable appearances in films such as Due South (1997), Resident Evil 2 (1998), and Fugitive Pieces (2007) as well as the series, Redwall (1999-2002).

As a stage actor, he has received many accolades and awards for plays such as The Crucible (2012), Idiot’s Delight (2014) and The Dybbuk (2015).

Sexual Orientation

Diego is straight and the only woman he is known to have been romantically involved with is his wife, actress Robyn Stevan but the details of their relationship has not been made known to the public.

Family

Other than the fact that he was born in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, there is not much to go with as regards Diego’s family background.

He is however, the father of 2 beautiful ladies with his wife; Chloe (born 1997) and Dominique (born 2001).
