Prince Edward

Prince Edward is known as an Earl of Wessex. He is the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. 

Early Accomplishments

Being a child, Prince Edward was rather closed and preferred spending time alone. Nevertheless, he excelled in sport. Being extremely concentrated on drama, Prince Edward even worked as a tutor and drama classes’ supervisor. 

Though Edward underwent cadet training program, he decided to try his fortune in theatre and film production. 

Best Known For

Edward succeeded in production sphere. In 1993, he founded his own production company named Ardent Productions using the name Edward Windsor. His company works mostly on documentaries, especially about the royals. However, in 2002, Edward stopped running the Ardent Productions and concentrated on his royal duties. 

Edward is deeply involved into Duke of Edinburgh Award. He promotes the award by traveling across Britain and overseas.

All the members of the royal family are Anglicans. 

Sexual Orientation

Prince Edward is straight. In 1999, he married a public relation executive named Sophie Rhys-Jones. Together the spouses have two children: son James and daughter Lady Louise. 

Worth to Know

In 2006, his small daughter Louise underwent an eye surgery to correct sight disorder. 

Before marrying Sophie Rhys-Jones, the two had been dating for 6 years. 

In 2002, both Edward and his wife decided to leave their private jobs in order to support Her Royal Majesty in her royal duties. They both are not full-time working royals.
