She played the title role of Borden in a high school play in her first year and won a modeling competition at 15. She made money doing commercials while she attended Lee Strasberg Institute.

Rebecca is straight. She dated Eric Dane for 10 months before they got married in 2004 but sadly divorced in 2018. She and Brett Ratner enjoyed an 8-year relationship together, ending in late 2003.

She recently became the youngest child of Curtis and Floneva Gayheart after Rachel, her sister died in 2017 aged 38. Her older siblings are Elizabeth and Curtis Jr.
