Michael W. Comrie, also known as Mike “The Brick” Comrie, retired as a fan cult hero for the NHL team, Edmonton Oilers where he spent 4½ year of his 12-year hockey career.
Early Accomplishments
He was influenced by his hockey-playing older brother and began at high school when he played for Edmonton Canadians as a 15 year old.
He spent the next 2 years with St. Albert Saints winning the AJHL and being named the MVP.
He spent 2 successful years with the University of Michigan hockey team before becoming the 91st overall 1999 NHL draft by the Oilers.
Best Known For
In his first spell with the Oilers, he played 192 games and scored 133 points but his famed for his first game in his second spell when he assisted 4 goals and entered a fight to the crowd’s adulation.
He played for other clubs and the Canadian national team where he won the 2003 world championship.

Mike is straight and to the admiration to lovers of hockey and the Hollywood, was married to Disney alum, Hilary Duff in 2010 after dating for 3 years. The marriage however, ended in February after Duff filed for divorce a year before.

His father, Bill got remarried after cancer took his mother, Theresa in 1990. He has Paul and Cathy as older siblings and professional hockey-playing younger half-brothers, Eric and Ty.
