Kathleen Man Gyllenhaal

Kathleen Man Gyllenhaal is a talented American writer, director and producer of a vast number of critically acclaimed documentaries and short films.

Early Accomplishments

She studied Film Studies and graduated with a B.A. from Yale University and a M.F.A. from Iowa University before receiving Fulbright scholarship to study in Paris where she made her directional debut in 2002.

After almost a decade of teaching film production at UC-Boulder and Vassar College, she left her tenure position and switched to Hollywood to write and direct full-time.

As a filmmaker, her works delves into subjects of social changes and multiculturalism and their dynamic nature. 

She has written and directed several award-winning documentaries and short films such as The Interview in 2002, Sita, a Girl from Jambu in 2006, In Utero in 2015 and most notably Lychee Thieves in 2010.
